My debut poetry collection, now in hardcover with full-color artwork

Image
Poems of My Past Hardcover Now Available! For those who enjoy a thoughtful exploration of the mind in the form of poetry, my debut poetry collection, Poems of My Past, is now available with full-color artwork in hardcover , and a black and white version in paperback ! This realization is a dream come true and brings my vision full circle, as my original idea for my poetry was to make it as interactive and immersive as possible. It’s a deep collection of existential hope and dread, which after just about a decade, holds up. It is worth a first encounter or a revisit for those who feel the pull of fate and desire toward the inner workings of our universe, our society and culture, and our interpersonal relationships.  Check out Poems of My Past now on Amazon , and be prepared for when my second poetry collection in this series, Poems of Destiny, drops in the near future!

My soft relaunch of my online music magazine AidriftSignals

AirdriftSignals Online Music Magazine Soft Relaunch I’ve been preparing a sort of soft relaunch of my online music magazine AirdriftSignals Music Magazine with the release of my 50th Anniversary Analysis and Review of Pink Floyd’s The Dark Side of The Moon . I learned recently that former member Roger Waters plans to release a remake of this legendary album, titled The Dark Side of The Moon Redux, so I felt that there couldn’t be a more perfect time to do a really in-depth deep-dive into one of the greatest albums of all time.  Check it out and drop a like for my Facebook page or share! I plan to do many more deep dives in the coming months and years. Cheers! https://www.airdriftsignals.com/2023/09/pink-floyd-dark-side-of-the-moon-50th-analysis-and-review.html

My self-titled EP from 2015 finally makes its way to streaming services

Image
DJ Dark Flow EP In the summer of 2015, I released my debut EP. Now, 8 years later, I finally put my self-titled EP on streaming services.   The reason it hadn’t come sooner was because I knew a couple of these original mixes were clipping and a bit muddy. Even after attempting to master them at the time, I was pretty novice to music production in a digital audio workspace, commonly referred to as a DAW. After getting the chance to clean up and correct a couple of these tracks, I am proud to finally be sharing them on streaming today. The other reason I never released this EP was for the fact that my original mixes were already starting to audibly improve after just a few months of learning. My first release on streaming services became an instrumental dubstep remix of my good friend B. Dvine’s hip-hop single Freewill Refinement with Young Dirty Bastard, followed by my October two track single SO)L. While my later releases began to improve in audio mixing, I still stand by my self-title

A change in productivity - Thoughts about new AI technology

Image
Nowadays, AI is speeding up everything. This post is entirely human, but that can’t be said of others across the web. This forced me to face a somewhat moral dilemma: as time has become more precious and other priorities have overtaken my writing, what if I was able to have a partial assist with AI while still inserting my evergreen content and human experiences? True, this is a quandary faced by scholars the world over already, as AI is becoming increasingly difficult to detect. However, as the technological landscape evolves, should we be held back by our human limits, or should we learn to work alongside AI? As AI begins to operate and translate all manner of operational functions, we as humans  must also operate as the watchers, the guard rails, the gatekeepers, without allowing AI or Chat AI to operate in any singular fashion.  This wasn’t the design of AI, as Skynet or Legion from the Terminator franchise has warned us all along. AI isn’t supposed to be sentient, and while that

My two paperback books are now catalogued at my local library

Image
Last weekend I went to my local library with my books. Our local library manager Anne remembered me from my poetry reading years ago and was ecstatic that I since released a horror novella with an accompanying original soundtrack. She had me sign my books and was happy to catalogue them and feature in the front as a local author.  In the springtime I will be doing a special presentation of readings with the music for both of these books! It’s exciting to finally be getting back into my writing after landing a secure and rewarding career! Hopefully I’ll see you there if you reside in Connecticut. I’ll be updating my portfolio as a date comes into focus.

Video Editing: A Fan Video Combining The Lighthouse with The Moody Blues

Image
When it comes to creativity, there’s no telling what mood may strike you or what kind of project you may find yourself working.  Such is the case when I apply my various skill set to one-off or miscellaneous projects. These projects don’t have an easy classification for me for one of my header links, so these various projects may end up as a singular post on my Welcome page. One of these projects was a fan music video I made using a Moody Blues song (really an incredible and underrated group) and the 2019 horror film by Robert Eggers, The Lighthouse. Around the time my wife and I first saw this film we were getting into the early work of this musical group, an all-time favorite of my father’s, and whose musical taste I was finally coming around to and appreciating in a big way. As I heard this chilling tale of a lonely man in Melancholy Man, visions of The Lighthouse would never leave my imagination. These visions bugged me so much so that I had no choice in the matter and submitted t
